They were the "prizes" I was working hard to put into envelopes last week. All 100 of them!
Yesterday I wasn't in the office (out sick) but was able to point those that were here in the right direction for setting one of the pages for the promotions. I'm always so happy when things go alright without me (Thanks Steger!!).
Those in Team Stargate probably already know about the third contest that will be appearing on the site later this week. The premise is that the fans submit "super fan" video ads. I only wish I had enough talent to try such a thing. Working on the pages to accept the video's now, and hopefully will be in final testing in the coming days.
We're working on changing the video page, as it was originally added quickly, we didn't get the time to make it the way we liked. The thought is that it will be tabbed, so the first tab will have the most recent 12 video's, and the other tab(s) will either be archive, or all the other categories. I'm just worried that if the other tabs require more clicks, that less people will see them. Still I think it's better than having one massive page to scroll through. I didn't think we'd end up with so many video's! We had to beg and scrape to get content before we launched last year, but now it comes thick and fast during the season.
I finally got a server with PHP 5.1 on it! Yippeee! Now to get all the sites working on it.. and the new version of mgm.com.. Yikes.

Everyone: My commute is doing my head in.. not sure why it's affecting me so much right now, even though I've been driving it for over a year and a half. Just this morning I found myself challenging a car to "just go ahead and hit me" until I realised that that would be dreadful..

What exactly IS a flinger? Is it like a frisbee? I remember the pics you posted but I still don't quite get it :P. Oh well - no worries. I can't win anyways! Anyway, Spanner (my dog) would have it ripped to shreads in no time seeing that he's on his 7th frisbee and we've only had the little guy for 4 months!!! lol
Super Fans again? I was a 3rd place loser on the the recent youtube Super Fan competition but the video that won had nothing to do with being a super fan!!!! Gateroom (2nd place) should have won for sure!! I'm not that sorry a loser though because I much prefer my 2 signed scripts over a costume lol.
However, the idea of ANOTHER super fan competition has almost angered me because I LIVE for making little movies and I've done a TON of Stargate fan vids! I actually just did the Joe Flanigan Favorite lines, vid to rival Hewlett's, on youtube! Yeah, a girl pretending to be Joe Flanigan lol. Although I'm a McKay I can't impersonate him, but Sheppard/Flanigan is EASY!
Ach I might just "enter" with a version of our own on youtube anyway, and show people (mgm) what they're missing but not letting us UKers in!! lol.
It's sad how much I want a 'flinger'... Your cat ate yours?? Not sure about Mars, but he's got a MySpace now so maybe he's barking about it ;)
Oh yes, the Team Stargate emails are fun to read and well, I've got a little digital camera that takes 30 second videos and somehow, I don't know if that's gonna work, what with the video-editing prowess of some fans out there! Maybe there will be a category for 'best worst effort' I could win...
I like the idea of the most current videos being listed on one page, otherwise, I tend to check and scroll each day for new stuff. Maybe you could do little videos next year on what folks like set dressers, gaffers, best boys do...
I understand the pain of commuting. Mine isn't as long as yours but dodging SUVs with idiots yakking on cells... aieee!
